A Peaceful Place

Nestled on 18 lush acres beside the Toolara Pine Forestry, Standown Park is a tranquil retreat just 24km from Gympie on the Tin Can Bay Road. Originally established as a veterans’ retreat, Standown Park was created to offer a peaceful sanctuary for former service members and travellers alike. Over time, it has evolved into a welcoming space for all, while still maintaining its strong connection to the veteran community. The park’s beautiful gardens, open spaces, and sandfly-free environment make it an ideal spot to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you’re a veteran, a caravanner, or a nature enthusiast, Standown Park offers a unique and tranquil setting to unwind.

With grass or slab sites for caravans and camping, as well as drive-through options for big rigs and space for large groups, Standown Park provides comfortable and convenient stays for all visitors. The friendly and supportive community atmosphere sets it apart, making it more than just a place to stay—it’s a destination with heart. Guests can swap stories around the campfire, enjoy the quiet and safe surroundings, or explore the local area. Whether you’re stopping for a short break or settling in for an extended stay, Standown Park offers a unique blend of history, relaxation, and camaraderie, making it a truly special getaway.

Highly Recommended

A little away from the coast, this great campsite surprised us very positively. Very nicely maintained, quiet location and kangaroos grazing next to us.

When we checked in we got a great tip. 30 minutes from the campsite there are dolphins in the bay at Tin Can Bay. Highly recommended.
