Maaroom Caravan Park

The tiny inlet of Maaroom in the Fraser Coast region is nestled along the spectacular shoreline of the Great Sandy Strait, with stunning views across to the world’s largest sand island, Fraser Island. Just a short drive south is Tin Can Bay, which is known for its visiting dolphins, which come in for a feed every morning around 7.30am. There is also an 18-hole golf course for those who like to practise their swing. In Maryborough, there are a number of museums, markets, a steam train ride, and the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary. You can have a photo taken at the Mary Poppins statue or take part in the annual Mary Poppins Festival in the winter school holidays.

Not too far afield is Hervey Bay, from where you can travel to Fraser Island with all its attractions. The protected waters of Hervey Bay offer an amazing opportunity to watch the majestic humpback whales between late July – November.
