Lake Colac Holiday Park

By Alison Huth

We are spending a lot of time on the road, and that means a lot of places to stay. By pure chance we decided to stay at Lake Colac Holiday Park, a new park in the Kui family.

I am so glad we made that choice. It’s not a big park, and is undergoing some changes and upgrades, but that’s a good sign because it means that the owners want their guests to have the best possible stay. We got a drive through site, always a good thing.

It was deep enough for us to leave the car attached, which isn’t always possible. Then we went around to have a look at everything in the park. There is a fantastic amenities block with seven rooms of unisex showers and toilets. They are in excellent condition.

The main block of cabins has a fabulous view out to the Lake. It wasn’t the best of weather while we were there, but the view was still wonderful.

The camp kitchen left me speechless. It’s obviously very new. The kitchen makes my one at home look useless. This kitchen has a very long bench with a fridge, cook top and oven at each end. There are plenty of tables and chairs plus a sofa at the far end of the camp kitchen. There’s a BBQ outside too. It was amazing.

So, all told, we were very impressed with this park. A great feeling and we walked into Colac through some gardens and came back through the Botanic Gardens.

This park and area is very much on our repeat list.
