Trangie Caravan Park

Trangie - in the heart of NSW

Trangie Caravan Park is situated in the town of Trangie, 77km from Dubbo and 35 km from Narromine on the Mitchell Highway. You will find a green, leafy shady spot to stay for a day or two as you head either East or West.

Our park was refurbished in early 2015 and we offer clean and renovated bathrooms, brand new cabins, and grassy powered and unpowered sites for your caravan or tent. We have plenty of space for big rigs, as well as drive through sites. Our camp kitchen is fully equipped, including a pizza oven, and every Thursday night we offer free pizza to our guests. We also offer 2 undercover BBQ areas for your cooking pleasure. You are welcome to make use of our fully equipped laundry, as well the dump point and car wash area. We are pet friendly, and are close to a large green off-leash area for your pets to run around and stretch their legs.

Come and join us for our daily happy hour where you can exchange stories and travel tips with fellow travellers.

Things To Do

Trangie is well known for growing cotton. During the cotton-picking season the local gin is open for tours from late April to mid July. Both gins are a short drive from town, where tours can be arranged.

Trangie’s history is linked to the days of Cobb & Co. The early roads, river crossings, post offices, inns, and stables provide a tangible connection to the pioneering spirit of the area. Our town also has a small museum that features Trangie’s old fire truck, a 1918 Garford Fire Engine. A walking map is available from our park, which takes you on a self-guided tour of Trangie.

For nature lovers, the Goan Waterhole is only a short walk from Trangie Caravan Park and was an old aboriginal waterhole. It’s a lovely spot to bird-watch, picnic, bbq and learn about the cultural heritage of Trangie. A short drive away is the Gin Gin Weir on the Macquari River, and is excellent for fishing and picnics.

Trangie has an 18-hole golf course as well as a first class bowls club. Visitors can compete in both golf and bowls in the weekly competitions, and in summer you can also enjoy twilight bowls. Trangie has its own racetrack were two race days are held each year, in December and in March.

The town of Trangie offers all the services that you will need on your travels, including restaurants, supermarket, bakery, coffee shop, a swimming pool in summer, as well as a hospital.
