Lakes Entrance is situated on the eastern coast of Victoria and has been a popular holiday destination and fishing port for well over 100 years. The town enjoys a beautiful and unique location alongside the Ninety Mile Beach where the waters of the vast Gippsland Lakes enter the ocean.
Silver Sands Tourist Park is in the absolute centre of town and is the ideal and affordable choice for your Lakes Entrance stopover. It is a small, family-owned park catering exclusively to tourists. We are proud to offer quality facilities and accommodation and we maintain these to a high standard of presentation and cleanliness.
Our powered sites are level, grassy and most come with their own clothes line. Drive-through sites are also available. We have a range of cabins and units to suit all tastes and budgets, all tastefully furnished and with an ensuite, quiet split system air conditioning and central heating.
We have clean, accessible amenities that are centrally heated in winter and airconditioned in summer. We have a coin operated laundry for your convenience. There is also a dump point for vans and motor homes with onboard tanks or cassettes. There is a swimming pool (open Nov-April 10am – 7pm) and table tennis area to enjoy at your leisure, as well as free wifi reaching all areas of the park. We also offer fish freezing facilities if you have had success whilst fishing. Our park also offers indoor function facilities for adult group bookings, which is air conditioned and has a kitchen, flat screen TV, and a complimentary large catering gas barbeque.

The climate in Lakes Entrance is special, as the ocean breeze tempers summer heat, and winters are mild with plenty of sunshine. There is water which ever way you turn; sheltered coastal lakes, tranquil rivers, rolling breakers and beaches that go on forever. The fishing is great from shore or boat. Minutes away are the rolling farmland hills, and a little further the majestic forests and scenic wonders of the mountains.
At Ninety Mile Beach, you can swim, surf, sun bake, jog, catch a fish or fly a kite. You can take a ferry cruise on the Gippsland Lakes, charter a yacht for the day, hire a boat, or drop a fishing line. Hire a canoe, catamaran, paddleboat or powered boat and explore the Cunningham Arm. Twenty minutes away is the lakeside village of Metung where you can enjoy a dinner overlooking the water from the Metung Hotel. Lake Tyers is ten minutes away and offers great beaches, sheltered waterways, bush barbeques, angling, and the Water Wheel Tavern.
The Buchan Caves are a 45 minute drive from Lakes Entrance and provide guided tours of spectacular illuminated limestone caves located in a parkland setting. It is also a great spot for picnics. There are a number of museums, galleries and craft shops in and around town for you to peruse at your leisure. Walk or cycle the Rail Trail to travel historic routes and visit historic sites. It has easy gradients, no traffic, and is ideal for all ages.

Arrival and departure times: Arrival time for units and ensuite cabins is after 2 PM. Arrival time for booked sites is after 12 midday. Departure time for all bookings is prior to 10 AM. Notice is required for arrivals outside of office hours. Extended arrival hours by PRIOR arrangement are available at long weekends and peak periods.
