Porongurup Range Tourist Park

Nestled at the foot of the Majestic Porongurup Range

The Porongurup Range Tourist Park is a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of day to day life and is centrally located to the historic port of Albany, the interesting Mount Barker and the splendid Stirling Range.

Our sites are beautifully grassed with well-maintained grounds and nestled amongst shady trees, with views towards the Ranges. The park has powered and unpowered sites accessible to camper trailers, caravans, and motor homes with spacious areas for tents. We also offer comfortable self-contained cabins for an alternative accommodation.

Make the most of our well-appointed camp kitchen featuring a TV, gas stove/oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and a wood heater, and then enjoy your meal in the gazebo with picnic tables, BBQ, and fire pit. Catch up on your washing using our laundry facilities. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only.

The Porongurup Range National Park is located in the heart of the very popular Great Southern tourist region and is home to unique wildflowers and extraordinary birds and wildlife. The granite from which Porongurup Range is formed is more than 1,400 million years old and has been exposed by the slow weathering of the softer rocks surrounding the range.

Renowned for its awesome natural beauty, wildflowers, colourful local characters and huge variety of natural sightseeing attractions, the Porongurup's is the complete tourism destination that should not be missed.

Experience the great ambiance of our pet friendly, peaceful and pretty park while enjoying a glass of high quality local wine.

Things To Do

The Porongurup area offers a choice of many fine wineries, restaurants, attractions and accommodation options in the immediate area to enhance your visit.

Experience the beauty of the national park with walk trails to the peaks and spectacular views of WA's 2nd highest peak. There are a range of great bushwalks in the Porongurup National Park to suit all levels. The recently opened world-class Sky-Walk at Castle Rock is a must do and only one of the excellent walks and attractions offering breathtaking panoramic views.

Both the Range and surrounds and Twin Creeks Conservation Reserve are ablaze with spectacular wildflowers from September on and the bird-life is prolific all year round. Although only 12 kilometers long and 670 metres at its highest point, the range is renowned for its beauty. It is clothed in a luxuriant forest of giant Karri trees and the understorey puts on a brilliant display of wildflowers during spring and early summer.

Nature lovers will find much to see and do in the National Park and our community-owned Twin Creeks Conservation Reserve. Why not take up the challenge of identifying over 1,000 species of flowering plants and 78 species of birds, from majestic, soaring wedge tail eagles to the electric blue splendid fairy wrens.

Porongurup boasts many boutique, family-owned vineyards and one winery. You can meet the people who grow the grapes as they take a hands-on approach to crafting their wine. A distinct cool climate sub-region of the Great Southern, the exemplary wines are renowned for intense fruit flavours. Many awards have been bestowed on a range of wines from the area.

Porongurup's wonderful wines are complimented by a wide range of eating experiences, including tea rooms, sunny scenic vineyard vistas and a Thai café.
