Padthaway Caravan Park

Getaway to the Limestone Coast Wine Region

A picturesque drive through the vineyards of the renowned Padthaway Wine Region leads you to the tranquil setting of the Padthaway Caravan Park. Nestled on a hillside overlooking the historic Padthaway Homestead and township, Padthaway Caravan Park offers a relaxing and peaceful setting for our guests. Padthaway is situated on the Riddoch Highway, half way between Mount Gambier and Murray Bridge.

Just off the Riddoch Highway, our lovingly maintained park has cabins and on site vans set amongst beautifully maintained gardens, a blend of Aussie bush and English gardens. Camping and powered sites are nestled amongst gum and native trees set on perfectly manicured laws. We have a modern clean amenities block with a personal touch (including accessible amenities), and a fully equipped laundry. Make the most of our free barbeque facilities and camp kitchen, or sit under the stars by a campfire (allowed in season).

We have mini golf on site, as well as an animal enclosure housing chickens and emus for your enjoyment.

Wander through the adjacent conservation park where wild flowers, kangaroos, koalas and other native flora and fauna thrive, or play a round of golf on the adjoining golf course (season April to October).

Things To Do

Padthaway is an ideal base to explore the Limestone Coast. It is only a 30 minute drive to Naracoorte which is home to the World Heritage Listed Naracoorte Caves. It is also a very pleasant 20 minute drive to Mundulla, where you can enjoy a lovely meal in the historic Mundulla hotel. From here you can also follow the historic drive through to Bordertown.

Padthaway is world renowned for its wine. The incredible expanses of vineyard and the beautiful red gums lining the roads make for a very pleasant drive. Spend a day on Padthaway's Wine Trail visiting the local cellar doors and sampling Padthaway's wonderful wines. If wine doesn't interest you, enjoy a coffee at these outlets and take in the wonderful views over the Padthaway valley.

If you like a bit of exercise, you can enjoy a historical walk on the Padthaway Bush Trail which takes in the Historic Padthaway Homestead, Heritage Cottage, Cemetery, Orchid Track, Heritage Golf Club House, Woolshed and Padthaway Marker.

There are also marked walking tracks, which lead into the Padthaway Conservation Park. The trail starts from our park and leads you through native scrub and an abundance of birdlife. Typical of this area are eucalypts, banksias, stringy barks, wattles and tea trees, which are spectacular when flowering. It is especially lovely in spring because there are many varieties of native orchids about.
