Life is good at the Lake

Milang Lakeside Caravan Park is situated on the shores of Lake Alexandrina, Australia’s largest permanent fresh water lake system. Just a one-hour drive from Adelaide and 15 minutes from Goolwa, Milang is also a short drive to the premier wine-growing districts of Langhorne Creek and Currency Creek.

Enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Milang Lakeside Caravan Park with our many trees and abundant bird life in a birdwatchers paradise.

From the moment you arrive we want you to relax, and so we are happy to park your van if you would like us to. We have lovely grassed powered and unpowered sites as well as a range of cabins, some offering gorgeous lakeside views.

We are proud of our immaculate and accessible amenities, and we have bbq facilities as well as a laundry for our guests to use. We have a dump point, and boom gate security.

Things To Do

Milang is a town steeped in history from the bygone days of the Paddle Steamer trade. Once a thriving river port, it is now more suited to those that want to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this area. It is the only town on the shores of Lake Alexandrina, and a few buildings of the period remain along with the restored railway station and carriages.

There is an abundance of water sport activities such as sailing, power boating, windsurfing, kite sailing and fishing, or just relax next to the lake. Tennis and lawn bowls is also nearby.

Port Milang Historic Railway Museum has a number of coaches and wagons standing on the original tracks alongside the original station building. These contain and exhibition of photos and memorabilia of the Port of Milang and its railway.

For those seeking culinary delights we have a number of wineries in the area as well as a hotel with excellent dining and a country bakery.

Yesterday’s Power Rally is held annually in January, and collectors and enthusiasts from around Australia gather at the oval for a weekend of activities, showcasing machinery and equipment from days gone by, as well as the ever popular Tractor Pull.

Also held annually in January is the Milang Goolwa Freshwater Classic, which attracts a yearly fleet of 400-500 boats of every shape and size between 14 and 40 feet. The Milang-Goolwa is by far the largest yacht race in South Australia and reputedly the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
