Maldon Caravan Park

Enjoy the serenity

Australia’s first notable town, Maldon, is a quaint country town less than 2 hours drive northwest of Melbourne. Situated between the larger towns of Bendigo and Ballarat, the town has been settled along the foothills of Mount Tarrengower and the surrounding district is a mixture of agriculture, pastures and gold mining.

Maldon Caravan Park offers fresh and cosy accommodation, green bushland, the chirping of native birds and sweeping mountain views. We have modern self-contained accommodation in cabins, sleeping 2-6 people; each with their own fully equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. Each cabin has a split system air-conditioning, TV, dining table and cooking facilities, all set in a bush atmosphere.

Nestled amongst the gums and shrubs, our camping sites offer powered and unpowered sites for tents, caravans and RV’s. The amenities contain generous showers and toilets with private baby change room and fully equipped laundry. Entertain the whole family in our games and recreation room, with games for all ages. Finish off with an Aussie barbeque in our free undercover camp kitchens, fully equipped with everything you need for this traditional event.

Things To Do

Bursting with history, Maldon was part of the gold rush of the mid 1800’s. It is an unhurried country town with reminisces of days past, wide streets, shop fronts with verandas, miner’s cottages and friendly locals. Maldon was awarded the 'most intact heritage streetscape' by the National Trust in 2006.

Take an afternoon to unearth hidden treasures in one of the many antique and collectable shops around town. Browse through fashion boutiques, sample local produce and handmade chocolates at one of the many cafes, or view the local arts on display. To get a taste of the area, follow the Maldon Taste of Gold food and wine trail. Sample local wines and produce from farm gates and cellar doors along the way and enjoy a pint of craft beer.

Take a nostalgic journey on board the Victorian Goldfields Steam Railwayand take part in a gold mine tour. Our park offers a discounted ticket rate for our guests. Browse the local home-made, home-grown monthly markets, take in views of the surrounding countryside or go on a drive up Mt Tarrangower or walk up the bush track behind the park, to get a 360 degree view of the area from the lookout tower. Maldon has something to offer anytime of the year. If you enjoy fishing, why not head of to nearby Cairn Curran reservoir for fishing, and water activities.
